KANSAS TERRIATORIAL LEATHERS

Thank you for your interest in Kansas Territorial Leathers. Some facts about the Kansas territory are that it once included Pike's Peak and had several historical trails including the Cisholm Trail, Oregon Trail, Pony Express, Smoky Hill Trail, Santa Fe Trail, several lost trails of the Cimarron region and numerous stage coach routes. The eastern border of Kansas was the frontier in the truest sense of the word.
I have seen a lot of belts with flimsy bullet loops and thin holsters that some shooters are using. Since I have been making and tooling western leather goods for many years, I have learned to make items that will stand up to a hard roundup or cattle drive; that are rugged like the originals and will last a long time.
I use the same techniques and materials as they did in the old days. I develop all my own tooling designs in the Old West style and put them on leather I hand cut, hand stitch (using linen thread or leather lace), in the pattern of original western pieces. I use no sewing machines in any of my work except the custom, made-to-measure, boots. I am concerned about the quality of my work and I do not sell anything I wouldn't wear or use myself. I like to think that the plainsmen and cowboys from the 1800's would be pleased to own something I make today.
Some cowboys and ranchers like a little floral tooling on their equipment. I can tell you that having this carving on the leather will not shorten the useful life of the item and adds a real touch of the Old West; Romance of the Old West I like to call it.
Browse through my pages and keep in mind that the items shown are things that I have made for others. I do custom work only , so if there is something special you have seen here or in an old movie, old photographs,or historical books, lets talk about making one for you.
Again, thanks for your interest in Kansas Territorial Leathers.
